“ If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.

BoostUp

I want to show these videos to my students, have them reflect on their own journey to graduation.

Blog Focus

Keeping my focus up and ahead…

Next year I’ll be teaching History of Quebec and Canada, Ethics and Religious Culture, Contemporary World, and Visual Arts to small groups of about 15 per class. The students are in Grades 10 and 11. We work together in an Alternative school program.

All 4 of these courses are new, in their 1st or 2nd year as official programs in Quebec schools. Contemporary World will begin its pilot year this coming September (2009). As of yet, there are no English resources for the course. Plenty in French, none in English. We are promised some by September and have all definitely heard that before! Situations like this demand the necessity of a place like this blog, where I will be collecting resources for next year.

Please be sure to visit Leading from the Heart. I write about my thoughts on issues in learning and teaching at a deeper level than here. This is a collection of resources. There, a collection of thoughts and ideas, a glimpse into my practice.
